Where Were You Six Months Ago?

3 weeks down, 2 to go!

How did 18.3 go for you? If you’re like most, you ran into a roadblock somewhere because the workout featured so many different elements.

Double-unders, overhead squats, muscle-ups (pull-ups for the scaled division). The volume of double-unders was too much for some; the OHS too heavy for others.

And then others spent the majority of their workout looking to achieve that elusive first muscle-up or pull-up.

18.3 allowed us to see some amazing things as a fitness community. Athletes @brickhousecrossfit and @crossfitunifyroanoke achieving their first muscle-ups and pull-ups.

Others rolling through 100 double-unders when just a short time ago they could barely string two together.

Athletes grinding through sets of 12 pull-ups when six months ago they were using bands for assistance during these reps.

So much progress!

This is what the Open is about. Not only pushing your limits, but giving you the opportunity to see how far you’ve come.

Appreciate the steps you’ve taken to advance your fitness!

As we move into week 4 and roll through the last 2 weeks of the 2018 Open, keep these thoughts in mind: Where was I six months ago? Where was my fitness and health last year?

Generally these questions will yield the realization, no matter how you’re feeling right now, that you’ve come so far and have made so much progress.

Trust the process. Be patient. Your fitness and overall health are growing daily and the journey is a beautiful thing. Enjoy it!
